Here, the inventory analysis uses historical sales figures to make a forecast for the current delivery period and tests it against the actual allocation planning in the planogram. Thus the analysis makes possible stock gaps visible in order to avoid short selling.
In contrast to the analysis functions of a merchandise management system, all these analyses are area and space-related, i.e. they do not only make statements on the basis of pure numerical values, but also include the actual merchandising space.
